Plot Division
Reactive urban subdivision and plot generation.
The Plot Division service in Balarhinos allows you to automatically subdivide urban boundaries into individual plots based on semantic rules and geometric constraints.
Concept
Unlike manual subdivision, Balarhinos' Plot Division is reactive. If you modify the parent boundary or change the subdivision rules, the plots regenerate automatically while preserving their semantic relationships.
How to Use
- Create a Boundary: Draw a closed curve in Rhino representing your site or block boundary.
- Tag as Boundary: Use the Semantics panel to assign the
boundarycategory to your curve. - Configure Rules: In the Plot Division dashboard, set your target parameters:
- Min Plot Area: The minimum size for any generated plot.
- Setback: The distance from the boundary edge to the buildable area.
- Frontage Width: Minimum width required along the road access.
- Generate: The system will compute the subdivision and generate the plot geometry instantly.
Parameter Inheritance
Generated plots are not just curves; they are Smart Geometry. They automatically inherit metadata from their parent block:
- Zoning Data: Max height, F.A.R. (Floor Area Ratio), and usage types.
- Urban Context: Proximity to roads and amenities.
Reactive Workflow
Because the division is rule-based, you can experiment with different urban morphologies rapidly:
- Move a Road: If the boundary changes, the plots reshuffle to maintain their optimal areas.
- Adjust Density: Change the minimum plot size to see how many units can fit on the site in real-time.
Plot division logic uses a custom spatial partitioning algorithm optimized for architectural precision and urban planning standards.
